Multi-Sports Court Nearly Ready to Play
The newly resurfaced tennis court will soon be ready to re-open as a multi-sports court for tennis, football, basketball and other sports.
Thanks to Viridor funding and money raised by the DCA through community events, a robust multi-sports surface has now been laid by SSP in the court on the edge of Hernhill Playing Fields. There is also a new, removable, tennis net so that it can be used for a wider variety of sports activities.
An application for planning permission has recently been submitted for new floodlighting for the court, so that it can be used throughout the year, including the dark winter evenings.
It would be a great help if we could get as many supporting comments as possible for the application. You can comment on the website here:

It would be particularly helpful to get positive comments from new and existing users, supporting the application and saying how the new floodlights would increase your use of the court.
It would also be very helpful to get supporting comments from residents of Swale View and other local residents. Please be reassured that the lights will only be 4 meters high, (slightly higher than the existing fence) and will be on timers, so that they come on during times of use and automatically turn off at 10.00pm.
The Court will be officially opened at the Village Fete on 7th May. Look out for further information about booking the court – coming soon!
Tennis Lessons at the DCA
Proffessional Tennis Coach Giuseppe Tripodi will be back at the DCA tennis court for children’s tennis lessons during the Easter Holidays.
He will also run weekly tennis lessons in the DCA tennis court next term.

16/03 – Elham (H) 11.00
23/03 – Tankerton U11’s (A) 10.00 (although this may have to be played at HH due to problems with their pitch. In which case it would be 11.00 k/o)
06/04 – Sturry (A) – 10.00
13/04 – Margate (H) 11.00
20/04 – Tankerton U11’s (A) 10.00. This is a cup game and may also need to be moved to HHH.
27/04 or 04/05 – Cup games if we progress – tbc
11/05 Finals Day
7th Faversham Scout Group
The 7th Faversham Scout group organise fun activities including camping , hiking, sleepovers, cooking, badge-work and lots more.
They meet on Thursday evenings in the Scout Hall behind Dee-Dees nursery in The Ridgeway, Boughton.
Beavers(6-8 years) meet at 5.30 – 6.45pm
Cubs (8-10 1/2 years) meet at 6.45 – 8.15pm
