Village Party photo slideshow

Like many communties across the country, Hernhill Village came together to join the national day of celebrations for the Royal Wedding yesterday with a resoundingly successful village party;  click here to view a slideshow of photos from the event.

Two mighty barbeques complemented a lavish village table with food and drink for all; an impromptu football match kept the children (and a few adults!) occupied; the bouncy castle was a source of great entertainment; artistic endeavour ran rife in the face-painting, with both children and adults sporting some brilliant creations; all the while following the wedding ceremony and aftermath at the palace on a large screen in the village hall. We even had our own prince and several princesses for the occasion!

With thanks to all of those who contributed to make the event such a success; those who helped set up, organised the webcast, cooked food on the barbeque, put up bunting, set the bouncy castle, painted the faces of the many children, donated food and drink, organised the ice-creams, came along to support the event, and – perhaps most importantly – helped in the Grand Tidy-Up afterwards!

It really was a collective effort, and a great testament to the power of coming together as a community to make things happen. Well done to all!
